My expertise is working individuals during the child bearing years. I have worked with over 1000 women experiencing Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. There are a wide variety of experiences people face in the times of growing a family, including maternal/paternal anxiety, depression, mood changes; infant loss; role changes; work adjustment; unplanned pregnancies; health complications; infertility; sibling adjustment; and relationship stress. Having a safe place to talk and find ways to cope can be tremendously helpful.
I also have knowledge and passion for working with professionals who are experiencing burn out, strain, difficulty with decision making.
I have worked in the field for over 20 years and vast experience supporting people in life changes. I like to use multiple treatment modalities that will help meet a person’s needs. I have background in Infant Mental Health and Parent Child Relationships. I have a passion for helping clients understand the neurobiology of stress and relaxations states using meditation and mindfulness. I use a variety of approaches, including EMDR, Attachment Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I am LGBTQ affirming.
I also offer clinical supervision, training and consultation to professionals. Training includes therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
I live in Grand Rapids, MI with my husband and two children. I love spending my free time knitting, gardening and learning more about photography.
